  Sharon Lewis Koho

Sharon KohoSharon Lewis Koho grew up on a small ranch near the town of Inkom, Idaho. Her beloved father died when she was five years old, and she and her siblings were reared in humble circumstances by a hard-working and courageous mother.

In her youth, Sharon discovered she could create any world she wanted to visit, or any story she wanted to be a part of by climbing high in the trees bordering her cherished ranch. Daydreaming there amid songs of birds, rustling leaves and the babbling of the nearby creek, inspired many wonderful stories.

Sharon married Bill Koho from Nampa, Idaho in 1967, and they were married thirty years until his death in 1997. She is the proud mother of six children.

Although she is a Licensed Practical Nurse by profession, she has had much more experience in creating and telling stories. Her favorite thing to do is to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoys visiting, traveling, camping, reading, writing, swimming, and any adventurous idea that pops into her head.

Reviews-

I met the author at a book signing. She was so nice in answering my questions unrelated to her book, that I decided to take a look. The description on the back cover captured my attention; the characters in the book captured my heart, and the mystery kept my interest! The characters were charming and soon felt like friends. I easily got caught up in their lives and couldn't put the book down! I definitely will buy the next book and look forward to seeing my story friends again.

This is a great read! I usually read adventure and fantasy novels but I was enthralled with this book. The story line and characters draw you in leaving you to wonder what will happen next. There is a little bit of everything in this novel including adventure, mystery and some romance that isn't overbearing. I can't wait to read the second one!

-Tara A. Cooper

I got my copy of this book from my husband, who met the author at a booksigning. From the first page, I was intrigued, because I am a romance author, and because of the back cover blurb. It sounds cliche, but this is a haunting contemporary and historical romance that stretches through time, past conventional ideas about love, and into the reader's mind as a mystery. Readers who don't like romance will be pleasantly surprised by the multi faceted levels of this lovely novel!

I think that this is the book of the century. It's intrigue and romance. It pulls you in to the last word and leaves you wanting for more. Sharon Koho is a very passionate and spiritual author.

-Sarah Whitaker, Idaho

In her debut novel, Sharon Koho plunges with passion into what seems at first a heart-throb romance reminiscent of Barbara Cartland. The notion does not last long. As ripples on the pond distort reality, Sharon reshapes our perceptions of classic romance and bids us enter a mysterious matrix of ghosts, gold, and a gust of gothic. It’s a trip worth taking.

Written from a pure heart, this book is like a breath of fresh air.

I had the priviledge of passing Sharon Lewis Koho in the Barnes and Noble Store in Costa Mesa, Metro Pointe Shopping Center. She handed me the postcard with the description of her books, and i was intrigued. After waling through the store and rereading the postcard, I became convinced that I would enjoy the Painting on the Pond. I purchased it, read it right away, and can't wait to read the sequel.

The Painting on the Pond is a well-written composition completed with an absorbing story line, presented with wit and style by a writer who distinctly captures vitality, dialogue and characterization. Well-fleshed characters and lively exchanges are defined against a framework of spectacle and timbre, redolence and tantalizing milieu. Koho's masterfully superintended work presents engaging, vivid glimpses into what is and what might have been or could be. Filled with enough artifice, intrigue and wonderment to keep the reader engaged The Painting on the Pond carries the reader along on a satisfying trek to unravel a puzzling conundrum. The Painting on the Pond is an easily read work perfect for a lazy afternoon before the fire or out in the porch swing during the lazy days of summer.

"I finished reading your first two novels in the three days. They were wonderful, and you should have advised people to have a box of Kleenex by their side when reading them. I felt like I really knew Jerry and David and the other people in the stories.

I loved your writing the Indian language and then saying what it meant. It was beautiful! I felt like I was even able to know you through your writing. I will be sure to get your next novel when it comes out. Please put me on your mailing list."

"I got your two books, 'The Painting on the Pond' and the sequel 'To Walk In His Moccasins' at your signing in Chico, CA. You signed them for me. From the hundreds of books I've read, I don't know any that I enjoyed as much as them. You were there, felt every heartache, tears, and happiness the characters did. Kept you spellbound, waiting to turn the page to see what happened next. I was sorry when the they ended. Thank you for being in Chico that day."

-Dorothy Farwell, Paradise, CA

"I purchased your books last December, then put them away thinking they weren't my type. I'm a mystery buff. Then running out of books we live 30 miles from town I picked them up and read them. I just had to tell you how much I enjoyed them. It was a real pleasure. Hope you are still writing. Thank you for refreshing books without sex and four letter words."

Then I read the sequel, 'To Walk In HIs Moccasins' in about the same amount of time. They were both so well written. You are among some of the best authors I have read. "Dear Miss Writer of Words,

I am making progress, walking in 'your moccasin' and reading your sequel "To Walk in His Moccasin." I do like your way with words. They put a certain color on the page. Since it has been a while that I read your very good novel, "the Painting on the Pond," I had to get acquainted with your characters all over again.

Second chapter, page 8: "Jerry's eyes were sad, and he looked haggard and drained, but his cheerful smile relieved the concern on David and Kimberly's faces as they entered his hospital room. Rachel Duncan followed and slipped quietly into a corner" I liked this introduction of her the way you whispered her into the scene. To me it carries a hint of her character and a promise of what was to come. Of course the following pages really brings her to life! I like Rachel.

I finished chapter nine found the way you handled the Jerry-Danny situation remarkable. Your book is a page-turner. What comes next? I'm anxious to learn what's coming along. However, I won't try to hurry a page and perhaps miss some gem. I can tell that you live what you write. Keep it up!"

-Bruce Merrick, Caldwell, Idaho

"I loved your second book, 'To Walk in His Moccasins.' It made me want to read #1 again so that's what I'm doing. I read book #2 on the plane and cried my eyes out. I had to keep telling my neighbor, 'It's a moving story,' so she didn't think I had emotional problems!"

-Kathy Cook, Santa Rosa, CA

"I just finished, 'To Walk in his Moccasins.' What a wonderful book. I didn't think it could be better than 'Painting on the Pond,' but it sure did. Can't tell you how much I enjoy your books. I read a lot and I can tell you that your books are very good. They get your attention right off the start and it doesn't quit till the last page. Please don't stop writing."
